Game Day: Bruins vs. Islanders — Rookies

It’s here.

Hockey really is here.

We’re beyond the draft, development camp, the off-season trade rumors. Tonight we get our first look at the Second Coming Seguin in a game situation. We’ll also get our first look at second-round pick Jared Knight and see how fellas like Sauve, Hamill and Colborne have progressed since last year.

We’re stoked. And we’ll be there, handing out “We Want Cusick!” fliers. You can also download and print the flier on your own. We have it in JPG and PDF form.

Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster for $5.Proceeds go to the Boston Bruins Foundation.

* Kalman talks about the “seeds of the Bruins” and how we’ll be seeing the future of the Bruins tonight. Colborne is super stoked:

“I’ve been dreaming of this for 20 years, I guess. I’ve wanted to do this all my life and this is the first time I get to put on the B’s logo and go out and play someone else rather than just scrimmaging with the guys. I know it’s just a rookie game that it’s an exhibition that doesn’t mean anything for the regular season or anything like that, but it’s going to be a huge honor for me and I know I’ll have chills when I first pull that jersey on.” –Colborne, via TheBruinsBlog.net

* TuukkaTime lists his Players to Watch for tonight’s game.

* Holy shit! HubHockey is back after their website crash disaster. This isn’t about tonight’s game, we know… we’re just excited these guys are back. Don’t get them confused with Mark Marino’s Hub of Hockey site — also great.

* Lastly, Haggs had a nice one-on-one interview with Seguin recently. We love the job interview questions at the end of the session:

“What do you like to do outside of hockey? … Tell us more about your personality…. Where do you see yourself five years from now.”

Haggs: Five years from now, are you a Stanley Cup Champion?

Seguin: I’d love to be.

Done. See you at the game.

Time to go!
