Let’s face it; no one going to this game is going ’cause they want to see the Ducks.
They’re going because of this little trophy.
It’s the day we’ve been waiting for since the Bruins announced Rene Rancournament Day. First 10,000 fans get this singing ornament. TD Garden can hold 19,600, so don’t be one of those lame 9,600 people who miss out.
We’re still not sure what song will be part of this thing — our please to Bish/@NHLBruins fell on deaf ears.
And yes, the DOY staff will be in attendance. Purrgeron will be holding down DOY HQ on his own tonight. We’re sure you’re all wondering that.
We’re also assuming Rene will be gracing us with his sweet vocals tonight with his Christmas tunes. Seriously, why doesn’t he have an album out?
Shameless plug: We also have Rene Rancourt Fistpump t-shirts available in the DOY Store.
Rene looked extra pumped on Saturday before the game.

Bruins fan jumps on ice
Not sure if it was shown on TV at all, but two idiots jumped over the boards and onto the ice during the Bruins-Capitals game. Rumor has it it was in hopes of getting on HBO’s 27/7 show but all it’s probably going to get them is a nice fine and date at court.
Sure, we’re impressed two drunktards were able to leap over the boards and not break their ankles upon landing and slipping on the ice, but is it worth the fine? Probably not. Kids parents are probably going to pay it for them anyways.
Nonetheless, they were quickly apprehended and shoved off the ice.
Luckily for them, this didn’t happen (jump to 3:00 mark).
Ouch. Let that be a lesson learned.
Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
Blake Wheeler-Patrice Bergeron-Mark Recchi
Tyler Seguin-Marc Savard-Michael Ryder
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
Dennis Seidenberg-Steven Kampfer
Andrew Ference-Adam McQuaid
Holy shit. Danny-Pie finally gets to play.
Game Day Links:
- Haggs: Marchand is DTD. We’ll miss him.
- Kalman: Ducks and Bruins both slow to start this season.
- Hockey writer Graig Woodburn has passed away.
- More reason why the Bruins need to show up for all three periods and not just the last one.
