Game Day: Kings vs. Bruins

LA Kings vs. Boston Bruins 11/20/10

Bruins are on a three game winning streak and have won six of their last 10. They’re two back on the Canadiens for first in the Northeast. The Kings lead the Pacific division. Should be a good match up. Both teams have solid goaltending.

Thomas is projected to be in net (first off the ice, reported by a ton of people).

We were hoping to see Rask get back-to-back starts, After his shutout it’d be nice for him to get on a roll. Same with the Bruins winning at home.

Cool Hand Tuuk“He was smiling… That’s right. You know, that, that Tuuk smile of his. He had it on his face right to the very end. Hell, if they didn’t know it ‘fore, they could tell right then that they weren’t a-gonna beat him. That old Tuuk smile. Oh, Tuuk . He was some boy. Cool Hand Tuuk. Hell, he’s a natural-born world-shaker.”

Interesting. Of course, Claude Julien has enjoyed playing games with the media and who would be starting in net. Is ol’ JC up to another game?

Shawn “Wayne” Thornton — third greatest NHL player of all-time — was seen at morning skate taunting Rask and Thomas.

What a stud. Have you voted for him into the All-Star Game yet? If not, head over to vote.nhl.com. Get your vote on.

After the jump… DOY gets some love from CSNNE.com, we pay homage to former Boston Bruins head coach Pat Burns, projected roster, game day links and your game day video…

Days of Y’Orr got some love from Mary Paoletti over at CSNNE.com on Thursday. You probably didn’t see the segment on Quick Slants (it aired during the Bruins-Panthers game), but our site can be seen in the background. Leave it to Paoletti to get a hockey blog image into a football segment. Check it out here.

Remembering Pat Burns
We’re sad to hear the passing of former Boston Bruins head coach and future Hall of Famer Pat Burns. His career speaks for itself and in large volumes. There’s no need for us to rattle off all of his acomplishments. Anyone reading this blog probably knows Pat Burns story well enough as it is.

The only thing bigger than his accolades and career might’ve been the fiery personality he brought behind the bench and in the locker room… and when scoop-happy journalists declare him dead before his time.

The Boston Bruins have a great tribute to Pat Burns on their website. We wouldn’t be surprised if they show it between periods at the game tonight. Below is the video from BostonBruins.com.

Projected Roster (Boston.com):

Milan Lucic-Patrice Bergeron-Nathan Horton
Jordan Caron-Blake Wheeler-Mark Recchi
Brad Marchand-Gregory Campbell-Michael Ryder
Daniel Paille-Tyler Seguin-Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara-Andrew Ference
Mark Stuart-Dennis Seidenberg
Matt Hunwick-Johnny Boychuk

Tim Thomas
Tuukka Rask
