Game Day Preview: Rangers vs Bruins

nyrbos

We’re still high on the vibe from the fantastic season opener just a mere two days ago and we’re expected to head to the garden tonight for another game? Fantastic! Hockey season finally feels like it’s back in Boston.  I don’t think we felt this way for most of the 2009-2010 season.

Tonight we’ll see the Bruins do all they can to beat the Rangers:

Yeah, you’re not seeing things…we just did that.

The Rangers, who are 2-2-1 on the season so far are still looking to catch a little rhythm in their game.  This could prove difficult with staples Gaborik, Prospal, and Drury missing from the lineup due to injury.

Historically these have been close games, very close.  Since the 2007-2008 season, the Bruins have been 6-4-2 with 10 of those 12 games being within 1 point.  Last year year specifically, the Bruins struggled a bit, losing 3 of their 4 games against the Rangers…although, talking about last year’s struggles is beginning to get a tad redundant.

At this point the net starter is anybody’s guess.  Rask was the first off the ice and has a good record against the Rangers, however Thomas is playing out of his mind and as Thursday indicated, the Bruins can be unpredictable.  The lines should remain largely unchanged from Boston.com:

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
Jordan Caron-Patrice Bergeron-Blake Wheeler
Mark Recchi-Tyler Seguin-Michael Ryder
Brad Marchand-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
Mark Stuart-Dennis Seidenberg
Andrew Ference-Matt Hunwick

The Michelin man Henrik Lundqvist will more than likely be in net for New York tonight.
