Game Day Preview: Bruins vs Gorton’s Fisherman

To this day we wonder who approved of those Islanders jerseys. Awful. But as hockey fans, in a weird way we kind of want to own one.

Bruins are riding a three game losing streak. They played some fairly uninspired hockey against Pittsburgh and Montreal, wilting in playoff atmosphere like games.

They got frustrated last night with all the penalties and lost in OT. Time for a bounce back game.

Islanders are playing strong. You can call me Al Montoya is on fire. They’ve got points in eight of their last ten games. Time for the Bruins to put the past week behind them and jump back on the winning track.

After the jump… a lazy preview, projected roster, game day links and game day video…

Weird week whether your a Bruins fan or just a hockey fan. So much going on. Non of it needs to be rehashed in this preview. So crazy.

Think about that for a second. What happend to the Bruins penalty kill? That has fallen a bit under the radar lately. Interesting.

Thornton seemed eager to drop the gloves last night but couldn’t find any dance partners. He is likely only angrier after the loss. Watch out Islanders.

B’s seem mentally spent. Perhaps a road trip can once again cure them. On the plus side, the three screaming Islanders fans in attendance tonight should be easily silenced by all the Bruins fans traveling to Long Islander for the game.

Projected Roster (Boston.com):

Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton
Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Rich Peverley
Mark Recchi-Chris Kelly-Michael Ryder
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
Tomas Kaberle-Adam McQuaid
Matt Bartkowski-Dennis Seidenberg

Tim Thomas
Tuukka Rask

Looks like Seguin is going to be riding the pine again. Rumors going around that he was helping Steve Kampfer tie his tie in the Bruins press box last night. How sweet.
