With little going on in the way of an NHL lockout, NHL fans and gamers looking to get their hockey fix always have something to look forward too; the yearly release of an NHL game. This year EA is releasing NHL 13 with a lockout looming, which means their sales could be a monster. This year’s edition boasts a few welcomed changes with the biggest being the skating engine. If you played NHL 12 then played NHL 13’s demo, the first thing you would’ve recognized is that the players seem to have weight this year, which means that playing with Winnipeg’s Dustin Byfuglein is going to be a slow and painful process.
The team has also updated the lighting and shadows to give the game a more authentic television feel. Here’s a quick screenshot of Krejci and Peverley doing nothing like they did in the playoffs last season:
This years cover is Claude Giroux. I know, what a shame. Instead, I searched “Bruins NHL 13” and came away with two Seguin NHL 13 covers. I’m not sure who made them, but if you know please let me know so I can give them credit.
So just print them out and slide them over that awful Giroux cover and you’re good to go. Personally, I can’t wait for NHL 13 because that means #DOY13 is right around the corner. We are officially kicking off on Saturday the 15th, which is also the same day the NHL will lockout.
Hit up the comment section if you’re getting NHL 13 and for what system? Pizz, Jon and I are definitely getting it.
