15. Florida Panthers at Boston Bruins. No Tim Thomas, No Problem – Right?

Man, that Bruins have been pretty fucking bad lately. Losers of 4 out of their last 5 hockey games, Boston welcomes Florida into the TD Garden with open arms. Florida sucks sitting at 14th in the Eastern Conference with a measly 10 points which means Boston is going to play down to their level and get their doors blown off or they're going to be up 1-0 with 2 minutes left, blow that lead and then lose in a shootout.

The Bruins can't get out of their own fucking way lately. It's embarrassing. If we want to play the hashtag narratives game, it feels like Boston has never recovered from their implosion against New Jersey. Since that game, Boston is 1-3, their only win being a 3-2 victory over Anaheim.

Tonight is the perfect game for Boston to get back on track. They get a Florida Panthers team that is without its best goaltender. That's right folks, Tim Thomas won't be playing tonight. Jacob Markstrom is probably going to be between the pipes tonight and while he's a fucking giant (listed as 6'6", 196), he's not very good either. He has a save percentage under .900.

If Boston needs any night to get their shit together, it is tonight.

As for Tim Thomas, I have no idea if Timmy will be in the building. I doubt he'll be suited up because if Markstrom blows he'd have to play and he is still working through a groin issue.

But this begs the question: If you're at the Garden tonight and they do something for Tim Thomas – do you cheer or boo him?

People chose to boo Rich Peverley and Tyler Seguin. While I thought that was stupid, I get it. People didn't like that Seguin never lived up to the hype. They remember him for his terrible playoff performance last season (but apparently we all forget that without Seguin, the Bruins probably don't make it out of the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals).

I'm not sure what Rich Peverley did to deserve boos – other then sign a contract Peter Chiarelli never should have offered him.

But this is Tim Thomas. Without Tim Thomas, that Stanley Cup banner isn't in the rafters right now. I mean, I still watch this save and wonder how it happened. It was unreal:

Honestly, if anyone is booing Tim Thomas because of the White House stuff – slap them. I'll pay your bail (no, I won't).

Bruins should roll tonight – but they won't.

Our Movember project is coming on strong you guys. We've currently raised a little over $400, so we're closing in on our goal of $1,000. I would love for us to make that by the end of next week. We have a few posts in the pipeline, but in case you forget what we're offering:

So donating $50 or more gets you a post of your choice by the DOY writer of your choice. I want to make it clear though, if you don't have $50 that's okay. Anything you can donate towards the awareness and prevention of prostate and testicular cancer is amazing. Remember, we get absolutely zero dollars from this.

DOY Live

If you missed last  night's DOY Live, you missed a good one. We were joined by Cole Jones from The Other 6 Seconds to talk about Tuesday night's shootout loss to the Dallas Stars. We also looked ahead at tonight's matchup vs. Florida.

So last night in Chicago, the Jets were getting stomped by the Blackhawks. Adam Pardy gets smushed against the glass and the glass pops off. Watch the dude and his broad:
