17. Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins. Happy Veterans Day

It's Veterans Day and I want to take a moment to thank all the veterans out there. There isn't enough I can say to truly encompass how thankful I am that you're on the lines, or were at some point, keeping dopes like us here at Days of Y'Orr safe.

Also, it is game day and this game is the only game on he NHL schedule today:

So the Tampa Bay Lightning are pretty good.

How's that for a statement. Raise your hand if you thought that at any point would Tampa lead the Eastern Conference. You liar, put your hand down! But seriously, if you look at the standings today (which I agree mean nothing in November) the Lightning are 12-4 and have currently won four games in a row. I'm sorry, but that's incredible to me.

I mean, when you look at their goaltending alone, you would think that they would have trouble keeping pucks out of the net, but that hasn't been a problem. Although wins don't mean much, Ben Bishop leads the NHL in wins with 11. Bishop is also top 10 in GAA at 2.12 (good for 9th) and has a SV% of .927 (good for 11th).

When you look at the Lightning offense, it obviously centers are Steven Stamkos. Stamkos is once again doing Stamkos-like things – like leading the NHL is goals and points. I don't think anyone should really be surprised at this, Stamkos is awesome.

The funny thing is that Stamkos is the only Lightning in the top 30 in points. Usually when a team is in the upper echelon of a conference, they have more than one player who has a lot of points.

I highly doubt Adam McQuaid will be playing today after sustaining a leg injury versus Toronto.

Here's Malcolm Subban's fight from last night I believe. Do yourself a favor and mute this video. The bitch screaming gets real annoying really, really quickly
